Gazflot Load-out, South Korea

ALE successfully completed a world record hydraulic skidding load-out at a shipyard in Geoje-Si, South Korea. The project was executed using an ALE skid system that incorporated the company's new 650te skid shoes.

The hydraulic cylinders were retracted during the installation of the skid shoes under the 19,400te platform. Once all 48 skid shoes were in place they were hydraulically connected to provide a 3-point hydraulic supporting system to lift the topside from its supports. the topside was them moved to the quayside and subsequently moved on to the vessel using 24 push-pull units, 8 link beams and over 1,000 metres of skid track. It then travelled a total distance of 82 metres on 8 skid lanes.
