Installation of Equipment at Solar 3

 

ALE has successfully performed the installation of various pieces of equipment at the Solar 3 nuclear plant in Sevillia, Spain. 

Two turbines weighing 68te and 35te each and the 41te generator were installed by use of a crane, whilst a 26te condenser was installed using a combination of lifting, skidding and jacking.

ALE’s skid system comprised of four 90te skidshoes and two 16te push-pull units. A steel structure with wooden saddles was installed over the skidshoes to support the condenser which was placed onto the saddles using the crane. Once skidded into position the condenser was jacked down into its final position.
