Installation of Highway Bridge, Germany

ALE successfully completed the installation of a 660te highway bridge in Nuremberg, Germany. The installation required 24 axles of SPMT under the centre point of the bridge to transport it 50 metres to the skidding equipment that was pre-installed on the bridge abutment.

Two 70te strand jacks helped to launch the bridge over the skidding construction. The front end of the bridge was then met by a barge with skidding equipment installed on board to help launch the bridge the last 85 metres where the load was taken by four 285te climbing jacks. After removal of the skidding system the bridge was jacked down for about 3 metres to its final foundations.
