Lifting a 1,457te reactor, Portugal

ALE has successfully completed the lift of a 1,457.1te reactor in Sines, Portugal. The inaugural lift of ALE's new Terex Demag CC8800-1 crane, is the heaviest piece lifted with this type of crane and is believed to be the heaviest lift ever in the field by a Terex Demag crane.

The 42 metre high reactor was lifted using the largest admissible crane hook, which had a 1,600te capacity and tailing was completed using a specially designed gantry.
