Aqueduct launching, Argentina

Overview

ALE has successfully launched the 23rd section of a concrete aqueduct in the province of Córdoba, Argentina.

Services Required

The section weighed 5,750t and measured 575m long. This makes it the longest concrete structure to be launched by any company in Argentina.

ALE launched the section in stages of 25m at a time, using two 500t strand jacks. The concrete aqueduct is linked on its back and moved by the ALE equipment. Once the manoeuvre is complete, a new section is constructed and the ALE equipment linked on its back again. Every manoeuvre takes almost five hours to be complete.
The project is currently being executed in 44 preparation and launching stages every week. The aqueduct will reach a final length of 1,075m.
