Delivery and installation of transformers, Norway
ALE has successfully delivered and installed seven transformers, weighing 225t each, as part of the Nordlink Project in Tonstad, Norway.
ALE received the transformers from the Port of Kvinesdal. They were then transported using the AL100 girder frame and 26 axle lines of conventional trailers along a very technically challenging 70km route through the Norwegian mountains.
The NordLink project is the first girder frame project to be executed by ALE in Norway utilising its new locally based equipment and operations team. This is the first milestone ALE has reached in the major joint Norwegian/German renewable energy project. Referred to as the ‘Green Cable’ project, which at 623km long will be the longest high voltage direct current (HVDC) connection in Europe.
