ALE successfully launch Lightweight Service Crane
ALE has successfully launched its latest innovation, the Lightweight Service Crane, at an exclusive client-only event in October.
The event, held at ALE’s Breda office in the Netherlands, was attended by over 50 clients in the offshore and civils sectors. Harrie Smetsers, who manages the R&D team who designed the crane, gave a presentation and guests the first to look at the new crane in action.
This Lightweight Service Crane is fully designed out of light modular parts that can be assembled by hand. Each part can fit in an elevator or transported over an access walkway or stairs, making it ideal for use on projects globally where space is limited and access is difficult. This crane is one of the first of a new range of lightweight service cranes and lifting structures, suitable for lifting equipment and modules. The cranes are certified for offshore, subsea and onshore operations.
Harrie Smetsers, R&D Manager, said: “As our R&D team has just celebrated their 10-year anniversary, we are delighted to see more and more innovations coming through. R&D first conceived the idea back in 2015 after we saw a gap in the market for a lightweight and versatile offshore handling system that can also be used for our onshore clients and on other ALE projects. We wanted to offer standardised lifting solutions that could work on different, complex offshore assets, as well as our existing solutions.”
The crane is now available to the market and all sales queries should be directed to Richard Verhoeff, ALE Sales Manager – +31 76 571 5240 / email@example.com.
