Offshore Installations

Within the ALE group, we have the installation expertise to offer the full offshore package. Technical advances in offshore installation and floatover capabilities have made it possible to fabricate complete topsides weighing over 60,000t. With budget, location and oceanography constraints, alternative methods of offshore installation that differ from the typical heavylift vessel are often called upon.

ALE’s experience coupled with our innovative R&D division means we are at the forefront of design and performance for alternative offshore installations, such as high deck mating and eco mast installation as well as the below-deck lifting and flare tip replacement specialisms.

Extensive engineering and project preparation is key to safe and efficient execution. We have developed efficient engineering processes, including structural and naval/marine engineering. If necessary, we can engage specialist divisions and professionals within the ALE group, as well as our trusted partners in other disciplines to complete any scope of work.

Our Conbit operation complements this by providing enhanced offshore capabilities and the unique equipment, such as temporary cranes that are developed in-house and assembled on site, required for offshore lifting and maintenance operations.  For below-deck lifting, speed can be vitally important and we have the expertise to make the necessary preparations to ensure that this can be achieved. For even more specialised lifting operations, we can provide customised solutions.

Conbit are highly-experienced in flare-tip replacements, with a proven track record of safely completed projects across the world. As the ultimate goal of flare-tip replacement is to execute a safe operation with minimal shutdown time, their mechanical flare tip replacement method using their lightweight temporary lifting equipment is a safer, more reliable and less costly alternative to a flare tip replacement using a helicopter.

When executing floatover operations, the ALE-Offshore Services division are the experts and have the latest technologies to save time and costs. Our ballasting and mooring systems are unique and ideal for satisfying the biggest or complex projects due to the modularisation and multi-serving HPU features. With an External Rapid Ballast (EBS) capacity over 72,000 Cu M/Hr and a large fleet of cutting edge mooring equipment, we have completed some of the most challenging offshore floatover installations in the world. The computerised system allows full control and real-time monitoring of operations from a single control room, including flow and distribution, ballast control monitoring, operation of HPUs, ballast and de-ballast pumps, barge level/deflection monitoring systems and winch control and monitoring.
