ALE complete work on Groote Eylandt Project, Australia

Overview:  ALE completed the load-out from a barge and the transportation to the site of steel components to be assembled to create a new Stacker and Hopper Cars for the local manganese mine.

Services required: Due to the configuration of the Alyangula Port, the steel structures, were loaded on a barge from a ship anchored further away in deeper water. Once the structures were barged over ALE offloaded them to the wharf and moved to the final laydown area (approximately 4 km).

The modules weighed 79te, the extended dimensions of some pieces (maximum width of 10m and a maximum length of 28m) required the use of 14 axles of Self Propelled Trailer, a 7 axle, and a 4 axle Low Loader Trailer completed the equipment.

The transportation was completed in 8 days (8 barges) and consisted of 17 major modules plus several smaller pieces.
