Jack-up of a living quarter module using the Mega Jack 800, Norway
ALE has used the Mega Jack 800 to jack-up a 2,000t Living Quarter (LQ) modules for Apply Leirvik in Stord, Norway.
ALE was tasked by Apply Leirvik to jack-up the LQ module, weighing 2,000t, for the Gina Krog Topside.
ALE’s Mega Jack 800 was used to jack-up the LQ module to a height of approximately 12m to allow for the integration of the lower transport grillage.
The total jacking duration was just nine hours. This methodology was chosen so the module could be safely jacked-up during a short time window. It also allowed the client to gain access back to the module to complete construction in a quicker time over traditional jacking systems.
Once in position, ALE utilised 12 axle lines of SPMT to transport the lower transport grillage underneath the LQ module.
