Jacking of a port crane, Mexico

Overview

ALE has successfully jacked-up a ship-to-shore port crane, weighing 700t, at Progreso Port, Yucatan, Mexico.

Services Requested

The crane was a ship to shore crane called Panama Paceco. ALE was required to jack-up the crane 130mm in order to place it onto the main skid track, as it had been derailed off the track.

ALE used two 150t jacks and two 100t jacks with an electrical power pack to perform the manoeuvre.

ALE needed to mobilise and undertake the task within a short time-period as the client needed to stop operations in the quay to fix the problem.
