Replacement of a 500t rail bridge using the Mega Jack 800, Germany
ALE has completed the transportation and jacking of a 500t rail bridge as part of a bridge replacement project in Niederahr, Germany.
ALE was contracted to execute a rail bridge replacement in Niederahr, Germany.
In order to perform this, ALE prepared all jacking equipment for the jack-down of the new bridge, weighing 500t, underneath the existing rail bridges which were still in use.
ALE winches were used to transport the new bridge towards the final position, approximately 150m from the construction area.
Using the Mega Jack 800 with four towers of 800t capacity each, as well as two legs of the ALE Lift ‘n Lock system, ALE jacked-up the new bridge from its transport bogies. This enabled the client to prepare the foundations underneath and remove the old bridge.
The Mega Jack 800 was then utilised to jack-down the new bridge 4.5m.
The operation took only four hours to complete.
