Site transportation of two structures, Mexico

Overview

ALE has successfully performed the site transportation of two PLEM structures inside the API Coatzacoalcos Port facilities in Veracruz, Mexico.

Services Required

The structures, weighed 100t and 210t.

The job consisted of moving the first structure from the construction site into the client’s requested position, using 20 axle lines of SPT.  One challenge ALE faced during this first phase, was the restricted area available to turn the SPTs and transport the structure into its final position.

After the first structure was completely lifted and placed safely in its final position on the barge, the second phase was carried out.

The second structure was then transported from its original position into the first structure’s end position so the client could continue with the fabrication process. To transport the structure, ALE utilised 20 axle lines of SPT and one end beam.

During the lifting and load-out of the first structure, ALE´s ballasting deck pumps were used to sail away the barge.

The entire manoeuvre took one full day to be completed.
