ALE shares offshore wind expertise to inspire future engineers

« Back to news

ALE has been sharing their heavylifting expertise in the offshore renewables market with future engineers at HZ University of Applied Sciences in Middelburg, the Netherlands.

ALE’s Sales Director for Europe, Richard Verhoeff, presented to undergraduates studying industrial engineering, civil engineering and water management.

Richard covered the typical work involved with handling and installing the wind farms.  He discussed how this ever-evolving market is setting new boundaries for heavylifting providers and engineers, like ALE, which had led them to work in close partnership with fabricators to develop new solutions to cater for the increasing size and weight of wind jackets, monopiles and transition pieces.

“We were grateful to be approached with this opportunity as we could really demonstrate our involvement and passion in the industry,” explained Richard.

“As the wind market has changed so rapidly over the past few years, we have had to adapt our services and develop new equipment for the ever-changing requirements. It is an exciting time for those looking to embark on a career in offshore renewables and we are proud to inspire future talented engineers with what can be achieved.”
